I wanted to portray the feeling of a sunny happy vacation. The warm colours at the top of the painting and the carefree application of paint seemed to help achieve this feeling. The movement and mystery of the 'underwater' part of the image worked for me too. When I added the rays I was satisfied that the work was complete.
